La Promenade

One of Monet's earlier impressionist paintings. 1875 Je l'aime beaucoup.

The Japanese Footbridge and the Water Lily Pool one is on my wall now and I love looking at it.

Today I'm not really doing anything. Watching Freaks and Geeks, eating ice cream. ya know. And even though it's kind of a waste, it's nice just to be able to relax sometimes. I would be getting home from school right about now, but I'm still in my pajamas and my hair's a mess. Well... guess my life is pretty average.

a cold rainy first day of summer still = love

SUMMER is here. been waiting for it since February! but I'm wearing pants? oh well.

Verse of the day~ Romans 15:13
"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."

in friday's paper

He first noticed her standing alone near the crowded dance floor. Titian hair, alabaster skin, striking. The prettiest daisy in the field.
Winfred Stevens steadied his wobbly 16-year-old knees. Like a toddler walking in daddy's shoes, he clumsily walked slowly over to Esther Cope and tumbled heart-first into a pool of twinkling blue eyes. He nervously asked if she'd ... um ... uh ... er ... like to dance. As the band in the fig hall at Menlo Park in Perkasie played George and Ira Gershwin's "You've Got What Gets Me," she said yes and smiled.
He took her hand. She took his breath away.
Seventy-seven years later, she still does.

think about it th-think about it

Funny the way it is, if you think about it
Somebody’s going hungry and someone else is eating out

Funny the way it is, not right or wrong
On a soldier’s last breath his baby’s being born

I actually do think about this a lot. It's sad but I think that hate and sorrow let us understand a little more about love and how powerful it is.

I'm waiting for so many things it kind of hurts. I should focus on the present! It would probably make life so much easier.

fix you

When you try your best but you don't succeed
When you get what you want but not what you need
When you feel so tired but you can't sleep
Stuck in reverse.

And the tears come streaming down your face
When you lose something you can't replace
When you love someone but it goes to waste
Could it be worse?

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

And high up above or down below
When you're too in love to let it go
But if you never try you'll never know
Just what you're worth

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

Tears stream, down your face
When you lose something you cannot replace
Tears stream down your face and I...

Tears stream, down on your face
I promise you I will learn from my mistakes
Tears stream down your face and I...

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you.

something has come up and summer plans are once again uncertain... I hate this!

hmm today i think my favorite
song is elements combined - fiction family or The Tallest Man, the Broadest Shoulders - Sufjan Stevens. it's a tie
shoes are jellies!
color is green
food is strawberries

I'm not doing field hockey next year which makes me kind of sad. I was looking forward not having to carry the igloo water jug.

If I'm sad at school I usually don't want people to be all like "oh, what's wrong? are you ok?" so what should I do if there's a sad girl next to me who looks like she's going through some really hard stuff? Do I ignore that and act like things are fine?

p.s. a picture i took with the Order of the Basin (is this the final name?)
